"BBQ Shapes" Chicken Sticks ‘n’ Wings
It’s the season for BBQs and get-togethers when friends and relatives drop by or we’re invited for casual drinks or meals. These sweet and sticky chicken drumsticks and wings are covered in a secret herb and spice blend that we reckon tastes as close to BBQ shapes as we can get. Quick to prepare and quicker to cook they make the most of the more affordable cuts of chook.

Ingredients
1kg chicken wing pieces
1kg chicken drum sticks
1 cup tomato sauce
2 tsp garlic powder*
2 tsp onion powder*
2 tbsp nutritional yeast*
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp salt
2 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp cracked pepper
*The secret reason why these taste so good is that you use powdered garlic, onion and nutritional yeast.
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients until all the chicken pieces are covered with the mixture. Evenly space on several baking trays. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Allow to cool until they can be picked up with fingers. Serve with more tomato sauce and plenty of napkins to wipe your fingers.
